Internet Explorer 9 and Safari users must enable TLS in their browser settings (The new Ocean website uses TLS for enhanced security). Accept
* Internet Explorer version 9: Enable TLS versions 1.0. 1.1 and 1.2 in your Browser settings (Internet options > Advanced > Settings > Security).
* Safari: Enable TLS versions 1.0. 1.1 and 1.2 in your Browser settings (Preferences > Advanced Icon > Change Settings > Advanced Tab > Settings).

Ocean does not support Internet Explorer versions 8 and below. Get Latest Version
If you still have trouble, you should also clear your browser cache: press Shift-Ctrl-Delete [any browser, except Safari] and delete all items.

Acceptance Checklist Update

The Technical Acceptance Checklist, against which all Ocean Partner plug-ins are certified, has been updated and will be applied to all plug-ins submitted for Petrel 2021. The main changes to be aware of are:

  • 3rd party Libraries: To minimize certification failures, a plug-in may use any 3rd party library listed in the Petrel Components list, which can be found in the Quality assistant tool.
  • Dependencies: Please note that all dependencies must be detailed in the release notes.
  • Performance: Module loading performance will be measured against a 100ms standard, in order to improve aggregated platform performance.
  • Security: We will scan plug-ins for CVE’s and open-source usage.

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new eCommerce store, which provides an improved buying experience for our customers and technology partners.

The store will be rolled out in stages. In the initial phase, we have moved to more modern platform which has allowed us to create a new look and feel, improved ordering capability and better integration with back-end systems. This more scalable platform will allow us to continue to provide a better experience for our partners as we will continuously incorporate new enhancements and features.

Ocean for Petrel 2022 Preview 2 release available, April 11th, 2022

The Ocean for Petrel 2022 Preview 2 release is now available. You will find the links to it under Developer > Petrel > Developing Plug-ins > Download Ocean Releases. Be sure to read the release note for details on what is provided and for features you may wish to use.

Ocean for Petrel Preview 2 is in commercial ready state for plug-ins. All Ocean library and third party library is going to be binary compatible with the commercial release. Plug-in can now compile and submit for Ocean Store Acceptance to be released at the same time as Petrel 2022.1. Be sure to read the release note for details in Commercial Readiness section.

You will need a pre-commercial license to use this release and must be approved to acquire such a license. A link to request a pre-commercial license is available on the Download Ocean Releases page.

Ocean for Petrel Semantic Versioning

For the first time, in Ocean for Petrel 2022 Ocean assembly versioning deviates from the versioning of Petrel releases. Instead, we adopt sematic versioning for the Slb.Ocean.Petrel and Slb.Ocean.Studio assemblies under the Public folder, and rather than releasing a new major version of the API, Petrel 2022 comes with a minor version of Ocean for Petrel 2021.

We strongly recommend reading the latest OceanSDK Release Notes (Plug-in Binary Compatibility) for a more complete overview.
