LINK-Unconventional addresses the issue of fast simulaltion of wells producing from unconventional reservoirs. LINK-Unconventional runs simulations several orders of magnitude faster than the typical commercial simulations. It is based on our patented technology (US Patent 9790770).
LINK-Unconventional uses the 3D Petrel simulation case to extract information. The extracted information is used to run the fast marching method to calculate the Diffusive Time of Flight (DTOF). Then the 3D simulation problem is transformed into an equivalent 1D simulation problem using DTOF contours. Once the contours are decided, a new simulation data deck is created automatically and is run by the plugin several orders of magnitude faster. The summary results can be viewed using results charting process. The dynamic properties can also be resampled from 1D case back onto 3D case. The plugin also outputs the DTOF property under the grid used for simulation.
  • The plug-in integrates seamlessly into Petrel.
  • There is very little learning required to use the plug-in.
  • The 3D Petrel simulaltion case can be dropped into LINK-Unconventional UI and run in orders of magnitude faster than the conventional simulation.
