Dynamic Propagation Time
CONNECT-DynaRank performs the ranking process by evaluating the dynamically connected hydrocarbon pore volume of each reservoir model after calculating the 3D dynamic propagation time from the well bores to every part of reservoir. This is done using a very efficient analytical algorithm. The propagation time distribution shows a direct reflection of model’s heterogeneity.
Ranking to Capture Both Static and Dynamic Uncertainty
Dynamically Connected Hydrocarbon Pore-Volume provides the information about the network of grid cells that is connected from all well bores within a reservoir model. It represents the primary depletion process. By performing the ranking process using this criterion, it captures both static and dynamic uncertainty.
Dynamic Ranking Without Flow Simulation
The main reason that dynamic criteria has not been used in practice for ranking multiple static models is due to the requirement for running flow simulation which is not possible for the multi-million cell models. CONNECT-DynaRank performs the dynamic ranking using an efficient algorithm that eliminates this requirement. The process can be completed in the order of minutes.

CONNECT-DynaRank is an efficient program to rank multiple static models based on dynamic criteria. The program evaluates the dynamically connected volume of each model after efficiently calculating 3D propagation time distribution. This distribution shows a direct reflection of model’s heterogeneity while the dynamic volume shows strong linear relationship with the recovery.

Conventionally, dynamic model is selected from multiple static models based on the ranking of hydrocarbon in place of each model. However, this criterion may not necessarily reflect the dynamic performance of the model. Ranking based on connectivity is difficult to do as it requires flow simulation. CONNECT-DynaRank breaks this difficulty by providing connectivity without flow simulation.
