The ECLIPSE industry-reference simulator offers the industry’s most complete and robust set of numerical solutions for fast and accurate prediction of dynamic behavior for all types of reservoirs and development schemes. The Ocean API enables ECLIPSE to be controlled by, and communicate interactively with, other applications.
  • Control ECLIPSE and communicate interactively with other applications
  • Make well management decisions during simulations
  • Couple ECLIPSE to a surface gathering system or a specialized production optimization application
  • Features
The Ocean API allows ECLIPSE simulator to be controlled by another software application, couple the simulator to a network model or an interactive controller, and allow the user to view the current status of the simulation and make well management decisions during the course of the run.
    Additional Information
Although ECLIPSE is primarily used in a batch standalone mode controlled solely by the contents of the input data file, there are many situations in which it would be advantageous to have ECLIPSE controlled by another software application. For instance to have ECLIPSE tightly coupled to a surface gathering system model, or a specialized production optimization application. Furthermore, simulations running with the Ocean API for ECLIPSE will require an OpenECLIPSE Runtime License to run. ECLIPSE is fully integrated with the Petrel E&P software platform.
